The MS VS Publish Vs. the MSBuild Build Compilations

The Publish can be run manually via VS and sometimes https://docs.veracode.com/r/c_precompilation , we recommend it as a test or a workaround for the Extension failing to run the Publish, likewise running the Build with MSBuild from VS command line. See the Help Center > MS Publish and MsBuild :
